A tracer unit uses UV LEDs to "charge" specialized phosphorescent BBs. This makes them glow in the dark, creating a visible "laser" stream that helps you track your shots and confirm hits in low-light environments.
No, you must use specific tracer BBs (usually Green or Red). Standard BBs will not glow when passing through the unit. Green tracers are typically the brightest and most common, while red tracers require a unit specifically designed with red-light LEDs to function correctly.
In most cases, mock suppressors are purely aesthetic and do not dampen sound. However, on Non-Blowback (NBB) gas pistols or some HPA builds, a foam-filled suppressor can significantly muffle the muzzle "pop."
