Where to Play Airsoft in Alberta in 2026

Alberta has one of the strongest airsoft scenes in Western Canada, but it went through a real shake-up recently: Direct Ops Simulations in Calgary closed permanently in November 2025, which means Calgary proper currently has no indoor airsoft arena. Calgary players now head out to Cochrane, Bragg Creek or Millarville.

Edmonton, meanwhile, has the biggest indoor arena in Western Canada. Here is the full verified picture for 2026.

🏢 Indoor Arenas

FOF Tactical (Force on Force) – Edmonton

Type: Indoor CQB — billed as Western Canada's largest indoor airsoft arena

Limits: 1.27 J on house BBs for public games; up to 450 FPS for private bookings.
Age: Minimum 10; under-18 requires a guardian waiver signature.

The Colosseum of Lethbridge – Lethbridge

Type: Indoor arena (primarily laser tag, with airsoft available)
Address: 450 31 St N, Lethbridge, AB

Airsoft here is a private, by-appointment activity rather than a drop-in gameday — no walk-ins, and Sundays need a day's advance notice. Full rental sets are available, which makes it a reasonable option for a group or a birthday.

Rentals: $45 HPA M4, $55 battery M4, upgraded options available.
BBs: Biodegradable only.

Worth being upfront about this one: it is paintball-first and airsoft is explicitly secondary. Their own site warns that paintball groups get field priority and that airsofters may take paintball hits. No airsoft rentals of any kind. Barrel bag and approved eyewear are mandatory.

Entry: $25 per player

🤝 Clubs

RAAT Airsoft (Red Deer Airsoft Assault Teams) – Red Deer County

A private club field on undisclosed property near Sylvan Lake, not a commercial walk-on venue. Historically ran weekly skirmishes of 15–25 players plus several large hosted milsim games up to 10 hours with pyro, drawing players from Calgary, Edmonton and Grande Prairie. Membership involves an evaluation process. Facebook is their live channel — confirm current activity before making plans.

⚠️ Closed — Do Not Make the Drive

  • Direct Ops Simulations (Calgary) — permanently closed as of November 17, 2025. This was a 26,000+ sq ft climate-controlled indoor arena with modular layouts, and its closure is why Calgary has no indoor field right now.
  • Battlefield Live Calgary — reported permanently closed. The website is still up but stale.
  • Black Cobra Airsoft Field / Quest For Adventure Paintball (Redwater) — the same site now operates as Rampage Paintball & Airsoft Edmonton.

We flag these because outdated directory sites still list all three, and more than one player has driven out to a locked gate.

✅ Before You Go: The Alberta Checklist

  • Check rentals before you count on them. Col. Peppers and Bragg Creek have no airsoft rentals at all. Others have limited sets.
  • Biodegradable BBs are required at Capture The Flag and Young Guns, and are good practice everywhere outdoor.
  • FPS limits vary widely — from 1.27 J indoor at FOF to 550 FPS for snipers at Young Guns. Chrono before you go.
  • Most outdoor fields are seasonal, typically opening late April. Winter play in Alberta means indoor, which effectively means Edmonton.
  • Book ahead. SPG and the Colosseum are booking-only; most others strongly prefer reservations.

🎒 Gear Up Before Your Next Game

Alberta's season is short and cold at both ends, which is rough on gas guns and batteries alike. District Airsoft ships Canada-wide with free shipping over $150, and we run an in-house repair service.

Keep This List Accurate
