Most smoke grenades vent from one end, so the cloud builds slowly from a single point. The Twin Vent II vents from both ends at once. Toss it and it pushes smoke out on two sides as it lies on the ground, so you get a wide wall of smoke in a couple of seconds instead of a thin column that takes a while to spread. That speed is what matters in a game: the moment you need to cross an open street or pull back a teammate, you want cover now, not in fifteen seconds.
The trade-off is duration. It burns for about 25 seconds, so it’s built for a fast push or a quick escape, not for screening a position for minutes. On a calm day the cloud hangs long enough to cover a short dash. In wind, it thins out faster, so throw it slightly upwind of where you want the cover to end up.
It ignites with Enola Gaye’s wire pull: pull the ring and throw, no lighter or striker needed, which is easier with gloves on. The body is longer than the original Twin Vent, so it’s easier to grip and throw accurately, and it’s biodegradable, with a non-toxic smoke formula.
Which color to choose
- White: the most effective for actual concealment, it blends with fog and looks the most natural.
- Red, orange, yellow: bright colors for marking a position, an objective or a landing zone in milsim scenarios.
- Purple, blue, green, pink: great for team colors, photos, videos and events.
- Black: a dramatic, darker cloud, popular for photo and video shoots.
