Product Description

FPS is proud to introduce the first Lightweight Carbon Fiber ZERO-SHOCK Piston (PM03CF), featuring a proprietary technopolymer body reinforced with carbon fiber and a full metal rack, 100% Made in Italy. This patented system significantly dampens the stress transmitted from the rack to the piston body, making the assembly markedly more reliable and durable than conventional pistons.

Key Innovations

  • Patented ZERO-SHOCK System: Attenuates stress between the metal rack and the polymer body, boosting overall reliability.
  • Body Material: Constructed from a Technopolymer reinforced with Carbon Fiber and Elastomer added, providing extremely high mechanical performance and a very low friction coefficient.
  • Rack Construction (MIM): The reinforced rack is made using MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology (SAE 4650 + HRC 38−42 hardening treatment), ensuring exceptional precision and strength.
  • Optimized AOE (Angle of Engagement): The rack features the second tooth missing and the third tooth pre-lowered by 0.3 mm, correctly setting the Angle of Engagement and making it suitable for high-speed builds.
  • Low-Friction Guides: Sliding guides are engineered to minimize friction and retain lubricant effectively.
  • Centralized Loading: The rack housing is intentionally decentralized to promote optimal meshing between the piston rack and the sector gear teeth.
  • Reinforcement: Longitudinal reinforcements enhance piston robustness and prevent rack contact with the inner cylinder wall.
  • Friction Reduction: Special internal ribs reduce the contact surface area between the spring and the piston body, minimizing friction during the spring's cycle.
