The piston is the part that takes the most violence in an AEG gearbox: every shot, the sector gear grabs the rack, drags it back against a compressed spring, then lets it slam forward. On a stock piston, that repeated shock is what strips teeth or cracks the body where the metal rack meets the plastic. FPS Softair’s patented Zero-Shock system adds a damping layer between the full metal rack and the body, so that impact is absorbed instead of tearing the two apart.

The body is a technopolymer reinforced with carbon fiber and elastomer, which keeps the piston light for faster cycling and gives it a very low friction coefficient against the cylinder. The rack is made by Metal Injection Molding in SAE 4650 steel, hardened to HRC 38 to 42, for precise, consistent teeth that hold up in high-speed and high-torque builds.

It comes ready for correct Angle of Engagement: the second tooth is removed and the third is pre-lowered by 0.3mm, so the sector gear picks up the rack cleanly instead of chewing the first teeth. That’s one of the most common causes of piston failure in upgraded AEGs, and here it’s handled out of the box.

Before any used replica is listed for sale, it passes through our in-house tech shop where it is:

Inspected for function, wear, and internal condition
Cleaned inside and out
Repaired or serviced as needed to meet our quality standards

We hold every used replica to the same high standard as a brand-new one before it ever reaches your hands. If something isn't right, you're covered exactly like you would be with a new purchase — same 30-day warranty, same in-store process.

What Counts as a Match

The competitor has an actual storefront (online-only retailers don't qualify)
