The AK-74 is an assault rifle developed in the early 1970s in the Soviet Union to replace the AKM. It uses a smaller intermediate cartridge of 5.45 x 39 mm, replacing the 7.62 x 39 mm chambering of earlier Kalashnikov-type weapons.

The KWA AKR-74M is an Electric Recoil Gun (ERG) AK-style rifle using the patented Kinetic Feedback System (KFS). This system allows the user to feel recoil with every trigger pull. All rifles in the ERG series are equipped with a mechanical/electric cut-off system that works in conjunction with ERG magazines to feed each BB and stop firing when the magazine is empty. This provides an unprecedented level of realism for training and military simulation.

The AKR-74M is designed to accurately simulate the AK platform. It features a full-metal alloy receiver, a shock-resistant polymer handguard, a pistol grip, and a full folding stock. An AK-style side mount on the receiver allows the platform to be expanded with AK-specific mounts and accessories.
